The 2014 edition of the Dakar Rally began in Rosario for a difficult journey of over 9,000 km from the Andes of Argentina, Bolivia and Chile, where the Latins feel expectations of motorcycles and quads.
The four categories of cars , motorbikes, quads and trucks set off in a link to the city of Córdoba ( central Mexico ), where the first stage starts .

In Cordoba, Argentina 's second city 700 km north of Buenos Aires , will start the actual race in which 431 vehicles are registered with a total of 712 participants. A special 180 km runners will then lead to St. Louis , west of Rosario

Participants in the competition considered more demanding in the world , are spread over 431 vehicles: 174 motorbikes, 40 quads, 147 cars and 70 trucks .

South American hopes

Chilean Francisco López third motorcycle in 2013 and Argentina's Marcos Patronelli in ATV champion in the previous edition , and to a lesser extent in Orlando Terranova fellow car are pointing higher among the plethora of Latin Americans who participate in the sixth edition of the Dakar -2014 in South America , called Odyssey, which ends on 18 January in the Chilean port of Valparaíso.
